The Porch Pickles project uses ingredients either grown on our own allotment, in the orchard or donated to us.

| Our
jams, pickles and chutney making are continuing on a Friday morning,
10.00am to 1.30pm. Members who get involved are provided with lunch and
a chance to gain some new skills in the making, packaging, marketing
and selling of produce. There is also the opportunity to gain a Food
Hygiene Certificate and OCN cooking qualification. Please talk to any
member of staff about how to get involved.
We have
had some delicious results so far. We are using ingredients either
grown on our own allotment, in the orchard or donated to us. Perhaps if
you have surplus produce you could phone us to see if we could use it
in exchange for a jar of whatever we produce. If you drop in on any
Tuesday 4.30 – 6.30pm you can buy a jar for £1.50 of whatever we have
in stock, which of course will change through the seasons. We welcome
donations of sugar and all types of vinegar.
If you would
like to buy some pickles you can do so by visiting the centre, calling
us (01865 728545) or emailing info@theporchoxford.org.uk |
